ALL SEASONS CARRIAGE COMPANY is offering a unique opportunity to experience the beautiful California Coastal Redwoods in a whole new dimension at the leislurely pace of 100 years ago! Your horse-drawn coach will carry you through the forests and along the Eel River on your 1-day/2-night or 2-day/3-night all-inclusive get-away! Choice of two trips will be offered: “THE BENBOW LOOP” will begin on a Friday night with a welcome reception and orientation. You will overnight at the historic Benbow Inn. In the morning, after a delicious breakfast in the Benbow dining room, you will board the coach to amble along the Eel River to Richardson Grove State Park where lunch will be served at the river’s edge. Time will allow for a visit to the Information Center and a hike in the Grove. On the return trip, you will have the opportunity to visit a genuine 50’s-era tourist stop called the Legend of Bigfoot. If ever there was an old-fashioned roadside souvenir stop, this is it, with all manner of gifty items and wood carvings and Redwood seedlings to take home. You might even get a photo-opp with a “real live Bigfoot”! Depending on our return schedule (which will be totally up to you), we will arrive back at the Inn in time for tea and scones … and wine and cheese before dinner. Your Saturday night’s lodging is also included in your tour. This all-inclusive two-night stay at the elegant AAA Four-Diamond Benbow Inn, all meals, carriage tour, and attractions is only $472 per person, double occupancy. "THE AVENUE OF THE GIANTS” tour is 2 days and 3 nights beginning on Saturday, Monday, or Wednesday. After your orientation and welcome reception on the first evening, your adventure begins the next morning at the Redcrest Resort at the north end of the “Avenue” and will proceed south to Myers Flat for the next night’s stay at the Myers Inn. This will have been a very ambitious 16-mile day with stops at the Humboldt Redwoods State Park Visitor Center during which time you will be served lunch under the trees, and have the opportunity to tour the excellent museum and take an easy, level 30-minute interpretive hike led by Center Director Dave Stockton. That night you’ll dine at The Groves with your host Chef Bryan Hopper. After your overnight at the Myers Inn, and a lovely breakfast at the Inn, it’s on the road again. But first … a tour of Riverbend Cellars is in order, followed by a vineyard jaunt on the carriage narrated by owner Thomas Meagher. You have an easy day this day … just 6 miles to the next night’s Inn at Miranda. Once there, you’ll enjoy a late lunch at the Avenue Café and the farewell gathering in the Gazebo at the Miranda Gardens Resort. This all-inclusive 3-night adventure with all lodging, meals, carriage tour, and attractions is only $683 per person, double occupancy.
